The Spirit of St Andrew's is Alive and Well!

Thursday 26th August 2021

Parish Community members have had a busy week enjoying a Home Prayer Group meeting, a Songs of Praise gathering and a coffee morning to raise funds in support of the charity Breast Cancer Now.

Ten members attended a monthly prayer group on Monday 23 August in Alison & Bob's garden and discussed the stories of Moses relating to the ministry of Jesus, starting with the bronze snake. 'Songs of Praise' in Beverley and Geoff's garden on Wednesday 24 August attracted 20 community members to join in singing their favourite hymns. On the morning of Thursday 26 August Sue & Mick hosted a coffee morning and raised £550 so far, in aid of the charity, Breast Cancer Now!. The event attracted strong support from the parish and the wider community.

It was a pleasure to see everyone smiling, praying, singing and chatting and enjoying the homemade refreshments and above all, fellowship. The desire to meet away from the church is strong in the light of ongoing restrictions and other limitations. The community will continue to meet wherever and whenever possible.
